Gabriel Palomo’s passion for music spans the history of his deep roots in rhythm, sound, and dance.

Playing the drums since the late 70’s, spinning vinyl since the early 80’s, throwing events since the ‘90’s, and producing since the millennium, from Chicago to Berlin, Gabriel has evolved through the journeys of old school hip hop break-dance beats, Italo classics, early electro, acid house and techno.

His pre-teen style war beat street days as a breaker and graffiti writer (a.k.a. Sez) naturally led him to become a DJ, which he picked up easily after years of playing the drums since the age of six. In the early 80’s he discovered Kraftwerk and Afrika Bambaataa. Taking their musical messages to heart, Palomo became a renegade of funk, looking, seeking, finding the perfect beats which led him to the early Detroit techno scene and Chicago’s acid house craze. In 1993, he joined a legion of rave pioneers, hosting some of the city’s most memorable underground warehouses, loft parties and club nights, and continues to do so at any opportunity.

Palomo is known to drop anything from techno to dark electro to tribal tech-house to old school acid tracks in any given set to keep the crowd moving and engaged, not missing a beat with flawless transition and key communication with the dance floor.  Palomo’s drive, skills and dedication have landed him DJ sessions at every major club in Chicago, events across the U.S., festivals and club appearances throughout the world - Mexico, Germany, Belgium, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Thailand.

Now with dozens of production releases and remixes under his belt, Palomo had launched his production career back in 2001 by self-releasing on his label Zuvuya Recordings and later the exclusive MP3-based label Linear in collaboration with other Chicago techno producers. He established LVLZ in 2019 as an outlet for his multi-genre electronic concepts.  In addition he has released on Elephanthaus, Fresca, Format, Chicago Jaxx, Mastoid Kollective, UKR and others. His tracks have been licensed, charted and played by the likes of Dave Clarke, Felix Da Housecat, DJ Hell, and Mauro Piccotto, to name a few.

In between DJing and producing electronic music, Palomo finds time to exercise his limbs beating on drums and crossing over to take the stage in Chicago’s thriving live music scene. His fiercely technical and nearly drum machine-like performances brought the industrial sound of Kill Memory Crash to life on stages at Movement (Detroit) and Decibel (Seattle) festivals. His driving post-punk style anchored The Streets on Fire on three albums and a tour to SXSW showcases.
